Hulk Hogan has found a way to disassociate himself from his wrestling character.

For over forty years, Hogan has been one of the most larger-than-life characters in the world. He embodied the spirit of Hulkamania both on-screen and off it. He even portrays his wrestling persona regularly in public, in particular at his “Hulk Hogan Beach Shop” in Florida.

However, despite his incredible success in the WWE and WCW, Hogan still finds time to just be Terry Bollea. He recently spoke with The 700 Club about this issue, and was asked how he manages to separate Hulk Hogan and Terry Bollea.

Hogan noted that when gets home, he simply removes his bandana. The bald head evokes the change from Hulk Hogan to Terry Bollea. He has no wrestling memorabilia up in his house, in order to keep those parts of his life separate.

“The moment I come home, the headband comes off the bald head, and you know it’s just Terry: dad, father, husband, friend. I have no wrestling pictures in my house, no wrestling belts, just Terry. The problem is, the moment I leave the house, the moment I walk out the front door, the world doesn’t want Terry.”

“The ‘mailman’ goes, ‘Hey, Hulk!’ So instead of saying, ‘Good morning, sir,’ I go, ‘Hey, brother, how you doing?’ I give them just a little ‘brother’ because they expect it, you know? There are a lot of tributaries, parleys off this Hulk Hogan character, which I really appreciate and value very much. So, it’s not just a job, but I learned to separate myself.”
